1. This text may help you to find out how Chanops works and how you might become one. There is no guarantee that you will ever become one tho.

First you should know that Chanops isn't a playground, or something you can become in two days or somewhat to kill some time. Neither is anyone accepted on here who seems to be power-hungry or "just wants to kick people out".

2. There's a little hierarchy in the world of IrCQ-Net:

• Admins
• IRCops
• BotOps
• AOPs
• ChanOps

So that means the one who is more important gives the instructions. ChanOps cannot just op the rooms they want if there is a need of opping in other channels. AOPs have their 3 AOP-rooms where they are advised to op if are currently not needed in other channels. BotOps can add globals bans and op people. IRCops have access to the spamfilter, SuperOp access or more in the ICQ-Owned channels, can op themselves, do the evil z:lines the bad boys are afraid of and take care of things that happen on the server, in example they can get your nickpassword back from the admins ( they cannot do it themselves ) and so on. Of course, as an Op of the ICQ-Channels, which are homes of hundreds of chatters, only skilled users with a long experience on IrCQ-Net and a good knowledge of the IRC Services like NickServ, ChanServ, MemoServ, the Channelmodes/Usermodes and stuff about mirc just as the basic IRC commands are accepted. You don't really have a chance to get through without these skills.

4. If you think you have all these qualifications you may feel free to a message or send a memo to an ircop or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with your application. Please be patient and do not come to #ophelp every day and ask about it, you will be messaged. Asking every day doesn't make your chances any better... There is a waiting list for ChanOps; even you have been put on it it might still take long for you start with it, e.g. new ops aren't always accepted since it takes lots of time to train them etc. and new ones are only accepted if there's a need of them.

I would like to become a op .And i'm wondering how (or who) do I contact to make this possiable .Ive been studying the ops rules and regulations . i want to be a op because There is some chatrooms that the ops are asleep or not even there .And I will have to go to the ophelp room to get any responce from a ops .. Alakshendra Yadav   |2009-08-28 20:35:51 maybe u guyz needa look aroung for an inspection in the rooms owned by icq, because some of the ops just want to sleep tight and dont care if someone is even abusing them   btw, i too wanna be an op, i have got all the skills to be so (i m damn sure) comands, patience etc. i m too added to the chanop waiting list ( atleast i m said so!!!) as such i dont have any problem in being an op on my 1000th death anniversary, but can the process go a little, a l'il it fast?

libra   |2009-08-28 22:53:07 Well i havent seen you on the op list but if u are on it whatever ircop you spoke to will have told you that being on the list does not guarantee anyone ops, it only lets us know you are interested. There can be a long wait and patience is a virtue Also its easy to critisice other ops not so easy when you are one .

wizard   |2009-02-27 12:06:03 #icq_europeeast is an ICQ channel so to be an op there u need to be a CHANOP to be a CHANOP u need to talk to the ops. Being a CHANOPS means u will op the rooms they tell u 2. However there are some exceptions... so u can try ur luck lol u need to talk to the ircops just pvt or memo them or EMail them: ircops@chanops.o rg
