If you chat on the IrCQ-Net chat network, these are the basic rules you are agreeing to abide by when you chat there.  They are basic IRC ettiquette really. Behave yourself and respect other chatters and you should be fine in most chatrooms.

IrCQ-Net Rules

Although ICQ rooms are usually talked about as "public", they are not. These servers and the bandwidth they use are paid for by ICQ, Inc and therefore everything on them is privately owned. So there are no "rights" here per se. There are, instead, rules and regulations (Terms of Usage) as set down at www.icq.com\legal\ircqnet.html

This is the set of rules that govern our presence here in IrCQ-Net. It is pointed out to you in your Status window every time you log onto IrCQ-Net, or below the chatting window if you log in on the website.

The following information is provided simply as a "Quick Reference" Guide to an overview of the Rules for this network. Please refer to the web page above for a full disclosure of the Terms of Usage and Acceptable Use Policy for this network.

---------------------------

The services of this network, including the chat rooms, are not for use by children under 13 years of age. Chatters under the age of 13 will be removed if found, whenever possible.

In order to create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere the rules are as follows:

No harassing users or hosts,
No offensive nicks,
No auto greets/messages/spamming,
Swearing is allowed if it is NOT abusive towards others,
No racial/religious/lifestyle/country insults.

Due to circumstances beyond our control we now have to be stricter on anything sexually related in IRC open rooms, for example , NO asking for sex/cyber in open channels, NO sex/cyber-popups, NO sex/cyber-nicks and NO sex/cyber spam.

Other restrictions include

No excessive repeating,
No flooding,
No port scanning,
No Mass Inviting
No Auto DCC
No virus/Trojan Spreading
No General channel/chat Disruption

ICQ LLC. strongly believes in people communication and in the freedom of expression as long as legal or moral accepted standards are not crossed.

ICQ LLC. trusts that you will use these facilities to promote the flowing exchange of information and exercise your freedom of expression in accordance with this Acceptable Use Policy.

Thank you and enjoy your stay.
