IrCQnet is fun and enjoyable and you may meet people on IrCQnet that you consider friends, however you should always tred with a step of caution irregardless of how well you think you know someone. The below is a brief guide to staying safe on and off IrCQnet - If you are taking part in a conversation that makes you uncomfy, simpy close the chat
- Never reveal anything about yourself that might allow strangers to locate you. That means keeping your last name, address, phone number, school or workplace private.
- If you must meet somebody you speak to on IrCQnet, then do so in a public place and bring a friend.
- Be honest about your age and respect the age limits room owners set for their channels.
- If you ever feel physically threatened, contact your local police office.
- People may not be who they say they are. Be careful when making new friends online.
- Don't believe everything you read in chat rooms and message boards. Walk on the side of caution.
- If you get a message that is mean or insulting, don't respond. Responses just encourage bullies.
- If you're under 18 or your child is, we advise adult supervision while chatting on IrCQnet.
This is as mentioned brief and does not cover everything, for further advise visit #ophelp.
