Joining an invite only Channel with ChanServ

To join an invite only channel using chanserv you must first be on the access list for the channel, providing you are then you tye: /msg chanserv invite #Channel replace #Channel with the channel you wish to join of course. Write comment (0 Comments)

DCC works but on some files it says this filetype is blocked

For the security of users some networks do block certain filetypes from being sent via there servers, in the event this happens for you consult #OpHelp or send via another service such as IM. Always Scan files for viruses! Write comment (0 Comments)

When i try to join a channel my client says the channel is invite only

This means the channel has been set +i and only those whom have been invited by a user or services may join the channel. Write comment (0 Comments)

Why do some people have an @ next to there name

The @ is a channel mode ( +o ) its name is opped or chanop ( channel operator ) these are the people that control the channel and ensure its not being flooded and keep the modes set that needed to be set, in general they are the authority of the channel. Write comment (0 Comments)

Why do somepeople have a % next to there name ?

The % is a channel mode ( +h ( varies per ircd however )) its name is "half-opped" - these are users with a little bit of "power" on a channel to help aid users and keep the channel clean, they do not have as much ability as an opped user and cannot deop an opped user, they can override the moderated ( +m ) mode however. On IRCQnet % is halfop (In Training to be full op). Write comment (0 Comments)
