Setting the ~n extended ban is no different from setting a normal ban, the prefix does slightly change however. A normal ban on a user would look like this:
/mode #channel +b nick!ident@host
Where as an extended ban looks like this:
/mode #channel +b ~n:nick!ident@host
The prefix ~n: is appended to the ban line. It should also be noted that extended bans do not work on users with +vhoaq and they can make user of wildcards exactly the same as a normal ban.
